PERIPHERAL MATCH

Suggested monitor for level Mid: 27" Fast IPS 1440p // 180Hz - 240Hz sweet spot

Sweet spot match: the RTX 5070 or the RX 9070 are built to push 1440p. Staying at 1080p would leave you CPU-bound.

Gaming PC build FAQ

How much does it cost to build a gaming PC in 2026?

With US store prices (October 2026), our 44 builds range from $1,330 to $5,134 USD. Entry: $1,330–$1,803 (1080p high/ultra in most current games.) Mid: $2,118–$2,894 (1440p high/ultra at high refresh rates.) High: $2,394–$3,783 (4K high/ultra in many titles, high refresh rate.) Extreme: $3,970–$5,134 (Aggressive 4K with ray tracing and content creation.)

Which graphics card do I need for 1440p gaming?

RTX 5070 / RX 9070 (Mid level, from $2,118). For no-compromise 1440p and 4K in many titles: RX 9070 XT / RTX 5070 TI (High, from $2,394). For aggressive 4K with ray tracing: RTX 5080 (Extreme, from $3,970). For 1080p: RTX 5060 / RX 9060 XT (from $1,330).

What PC do I need for gaming and streaming at the same time?

More CPU cores for OBS and an NVIDIA card with NVENC (AV1) to encode without losing FPS, plus 32 GB of RAM. Our streaming builds range from $1,641 to $4,365 USD.

What PC do I need to run local AI (Ollama, LM Studio, ComfyUI)?

What matters most is graphics card memory: 16 GB of VRAM (the most in stock in the US today) and 32 to 64 GB of RAM. Our local AI builds range from $1,630 to $5,134 USD.

What is a fishbowl PC and an all-white PC?

A fishbowl PC uses a panoramic glass case (front and side), AIO liquid cooling and reverse fans that show their lighting through the glass ($1,492–$5,134 USD). The white version uses a white case, motherboard, RAM, graphics card, AIO and fans whenever a white version is in stock ($1,653–$4,898 USD).

Which part takes most of a gaming PC budget?

The graphics card: in our gaming builds it takes between 29% and 42% of the total. It is the part that matters most for FPS.

Are these the final prices?

They are reference prices for each part, seen at US stores in October 2026. We check them once a month; in between they go up or down with demand, deals and stock, especially graphics cards, RAM and SSDs. Check the price in the store link of each part before buying.

The chalkboard compares each PC with the rest on the site: RAM, cores, graphics memory and power supply headroom come from each part's spec sheet; “Gaming” uses an estimated relative ranking of the graphics cards.
