Your privacy at TuPCGamer
Applies to tupcgamer.com in English and Spanish, to its tools (Budgets, Components, Full Setup, Guides) and to the emails you send us.
- No accounts or passwords: we never ask you to sign up.
- Your PC, your setup and your guide progress are stored only in your browser, not on our servers.
- We count visits with Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics, and keep the site free with Google AdSense ads and affiliate links.
- We don't sell your data. Google's ads can be personalized, and you can turn that off in its ad settings.
- We use your connection's approximate country only to show prices in your currency; we don't store it.
- What's stored in your browser you delete yourself from its settings; for anything else about your data, email us.
1Who is responsible
TuPCGamer (tupcgamer.com) is an independent educational guide to PC hardware. The party responsible for the data described here is the website itself, TuPCGamer, which operates under the laws of the State of California (United States); its main audience is in the United States. We have no offices or in-person service: for any privacy matter, email contacto@tupcgamer.com with the subject “Privacy”.
2What data we touch
- What your browser stores: your choices in the tools and your preferences (details in section 3). It never leaves your device.
- Visit measurement: pages you view, time on them, the page you came from, device and browser type, language, and approximate country or city. It's tied to a random identifier, not to your name (section 4).
- Server technical logs: IP address, browser, date and requested page, which our hosting provider keeps briefly for security and to detect errors.
- Approximate country, for the currency: our hosting provider infers your country from your IP address on each visit and passes it to us so we can show prices in your currency and an import estimate. We don't store it or combine it with other data; no city or precise location. If you pick your country by hand, that choice stays only in your browser (section 3).
- Advertising: Google and its partners may collect cookie or device identifiers, your IP address, your browser and the pages you view to show and measure ads (section 7).
- What you write to us: if you email us, we receive your name or nickname, your email address and your message.
What we don't collect: passwords, payment details, Social Security or other ID numbers, precise location or sensitive data. There is no user sign-up.
4Visit measurement: Google Analytics and Vercel
Google Analytics 4 (by Google LLC) records, in aggregate, how the site is used: page views, duration, where the visit came from, device, browser and approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. We don't turn on Google Analytics advertising features or combine this data with other data to identify you. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and block Google Analytics on every site with its opt-out browser add-on, or just here by blocking cookies for tupcgamer.com in your browser settings or by turning on Global Privacy Control (see section 8).
Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights (by Vercel Inc., our hosting provider) count visits and measure loading speed without cookies: they identify the visit with a code that is discarded after 24 hours.
5What we use it for
- Make the tools remember your choices while you browse.
- Show prices in your country's currency and roughly what importing them would cost.
- Understand which content is useful and which fails, to improve it.
- Protect the site from abuse and attacks, and fix errors.
- Reply to your messages and requests.
- Show ads and earn affiliate commissions, which keep the site free.
We don't build advertising profiles or sell data: ad personalization is done by Google (section 7). We don't make automated decisions that legally affect you.
6Who we share it with
- Vercel Inc. (US): website hosting, technical logs, cookie-free measurement and each visit's approximate country.
- Exchange rate services (open.er-api.com and dolarapi.com): our server asks them for the day's rates; they don't receive any of your data.
- Google LLC (US): Google Analytics and Google AdSense ads, together with the ad technology providers Google certifies.
- Stores with affiliate programs (such as Amazon): they only know you arrived through one of our links; what you buy is handled by them.
- The service that hosts our email, contacto@tupcgamer.com: receives and stores the emails you send us.
- Authorities, only if a law or a valid order requires it.
Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy; TuPCGamer doesn't control them and isn't responsible for them.
We don't sell your personal information for money. But Google's personalized ads use cookies to show you ads based on your activity on other sites, which California law (CCPA/CPRA) and other state laws call “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out as explained in section 7, or with the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link that Google shows at the bottom of the site in the states that require it. We don't disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing (California's “Shine the Light” law).
7Google ads and affiliate links
Google AdSense ads. TuPCGamer shows Google AdSense ads. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (such as DoubleClick cookies) and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Advertising cookies let Google and its partners serve ads based on those visits. Google may also work with other ad technology providers it certifies, which use their own cookies.
How to control it. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ad Settings, read how Google uses cookies in advertising, and opt out of other providers' personalized ads at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe). You'll still see ads, just not personalized ones. You can also block third-party cookies in your browser.
Affiliate links. Budgets, Components and Full Setup link to stores (such as Amazon.com, Newegg, Best Buy, Micro Center or B&H Photo) and to manufacturers' official stores. Some of those links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, the store pays us a commission and you pay the same price. As an Amazon Associate, TuPCGamer earns from qualifying purchases. When you open the link you leave TuPCGamer: the store knows you came from here (usually with a tag in the address and its own cookies) and its privacy policy and terms apply. We don't receive your name or what you buy, only aggregate sales reports.
We recommend parts for performance, reliability and price, never because of a commission or an advertiser.
8Your privacy rights in the United States
If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA) or in a state with a comprehensive privacy law, such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Delaware, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky or Rhode Island, those laws may give you these rights. Many only apply to businesses of a certain size; even so, you can write to us and we'll handle your request as far as is reasonable and technically possible.
How to ask: email contacto@tupcgamer.com with the subject “Privacy request”, say which right you want to use and, if you wrote to us before, from which address. Since there are no accounts, we confirm your identity with that email. Measurement data doesn't carry your name, so we usually can't link it to you; if that's the case, we'll tell you. Someone else can also ask on your behalf if they have your written permission.
Timing: when the applicable law requires it, we reply within its deadline (usually 45 days, extendable by another 45 with notice). If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying with the subject “Appeal” and, if you still disagree, contact your state's Attorney General.
Browser signals: if your browser sends Global Privacy Control (GPC), we turn off Google Analytics measurement in that browser. For Google's personalized ads, use its ad settings (section 7). Do Not Track signals have no common standard; if you want us to stop measuring you, use GPC, Google's opt-out add-on or block cookies for tupcgamer.com in your browser.
9Children under 13
In line with the US COPPA law, TuPCGamer is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you're a parent or guardian and believe a child sent us data (for example, by email), write to us and we'll delete it. We don't sell data of teens aged 13 to 16 either, or anyone's.
10Visitors in Europe, the UK, Switzerland, Peru and Latin America
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we apply the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its equivalents:
- Measurement (Google Analytics): only with your consent, which we ask for in a notice when you arrive. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting tupcgamer.com's data in your browser: the notice comes back and you choose “No, thanks”.
- Ads (Google AdSense): advertising cookies only with your consent, requested through Google's privacy message (certified under IAB Europe's TCF framework). If you don't accept, non-personalized ads may be shown.
- Technical logs and security: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working.
- Emails: your own request, so we can reply.
Your data is hosted in the United States. Google and Vercel protect those transfers with recognized mechanisms such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object and port your data, to withdraw your consent and to complain to your data protection authority.
If you're in Peru, the Personal Data Protection Law (Law 29733) and its regulations give you the rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection (ARCO): you can use them by writing to us and, if you're not satisfied, complain to Peru's National Authority for Personal Data Protection. If you live in another country (for example, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile or Brazil), you can also write to us to use the rights your law gives you.

12Security
The whole site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), we don't store passwords, and access to the email and measurement tools is restricted. No system is 100% secure: if an incident affected your data, we'd notify you as the law requires. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TuPCGamer isn't liable for unauthorized access, failures or incidents in third-party systems (such as Google, Vercel or your own device) or for anything beyond its control.
13Changes to this policy and contact
The date at the top shows the version in force. If we make an important change (for example, adding another ad provider), we'll announce it on the site before it takes effect. For questions or requests: contacto@tupcgamer.com, subject “Privacy”.
